At Etrona, we place great importance on environmental protection, sustainable use of resources and the legally compliant disposal of electronic devices and batteries. On this page, you will find all essential information about the Battery Act (BattG) and the Electrical and Electronic Equipment Act (ElektroG) – clearly explained and customer-friendly.
Battery Act (BattG) – Important Information on Returning Used Batteries
Many electronic devices contain batteries or rechargeable batteries that are necessary for operation. As a retailer, we are legally required under the Battery Act (BattG) to inform you of the following:
Used batteries must not be disposed of in household waste
Batteries contain valuable raw materials and, in some cases, harmful substances. Consumers are legally obligated to dispose of used batteries properly and return them to a suitable collection point.
Free return options
You may return batteries and rechargeable batteries free of charge:
at public collection points
wherever batteries are sold
by mail to our distribution warehouse:
Etrona GmbH, Karlsplatz 3, 80335 Munich, Germany
Battery labeling
Batteries and rechargeable batteries are marked with a crossed-out wheeled bin symbol:
The symbols underneath indicate the harmful substances contained:
Pb = Lead (more than 0.004%)
Cd = Cadmium (more than 0.002%)
Hg = Mercury (more than 0.0005%)
These notes can also be found in the accompanying documents or the manufacturer’s user manual.
Electrical and Electronic Equipment Act (ElektroG) – Disposal of Waste Electrical Equipment
Our product range includes electrical devices (e.g., kitchen and household appliances) that fall under the ElektroG.
The symbol of a crossed-out wheeled bin indicates that these devices must not be disposed of in household waste.
Your responsibilities as a consumer
You are required to dispose of waste electrical equipment at the municipal collection points in your city or community.
Disposal is free of charge.
By doing so, you actively contribute to recovering valuable materials and ensuring environmentally safe disposal of hazardous substances.
