Functions and typical applications

Which measuring tasks does the device cover?

The Bosch GLM 40-31 laser distance measurer is suitable for many tasks in trades and indoor work:

• Length measurement of walls, ceilings and distances
• Area calculation for flooring, paint or wallpaper
• Volume calculation for rooms, storage areas and shafts
• Control measurements in interior fitting, drylining and furniture assembly

The digital display lets you read results clearly. You no longer need to stretch a tape measure and you can measure hard-to-reach spots with ease.

Who is the Bosch GLM 40-31 suitable for?

The laser distance measurer is designed for professional users and DIYers who measure and document regularly:

• Trades such as electricians, painters, floor layers and carpenters
• Site managers and installers in interior construction
• Homeowners and renovators who need accurate dimensions for projects

Thanks to its compact size, the device fits easily into a tool bag and is always quickly at hand.

Everyday advantages

Why use a laser distance measurer instead of a tape measure?

The Bosch Professional GLM 40-31 offers several practical benefits:

• Fast one-button measurements, even over longer distances
• Fewer measuring errors because the device performs the calculations
• Convenient one-person operation without help holding a tape
• Clear reading of values on the display

This helps you plan material quantities more accurately and avoid wrong purchases or excess offcuts.

What should you keep in mind when using it?

For reliable results, aim at a clean, clearly visible target surface. The laser beam must hit the opposite surface clearly. In strong sunlight or on reflective surfaces, target plates or matt areas can improve visibility.

Store the device in a pouch or case to protect the display and optics from dust and impacts.

Conclusion: Precise measurements for everyday work and building sites

The Bosch Professional GLM 40-31 laser distance measurer makes many measuring tasks in interior fitting and renovation simpler. It combines easy operation with practical measuring functions and helps professionals and DIY users complete projects faster and with greater accuracy.
